It was 2014 and for the second time in her life, a vibrant, New Yorker was living overseas. This time, Poland was her domicile. She had moved there for the cliché reason - a boy. Halfway through her stint in Warsaw, she fell homesick. To combat that, she started reading and keeping up with all that was New York, which prompted her to obtain her New York Sightseeing Guide License. She was attached to NY, but she still made the most of living overseas. How much grumbling could she do? She was in Europe for goodness sake! With sporadic travel and New York knowledge at her disposal, New Yorker On The Go was born. She documented her travels, taking note of her favorite places and recording visual memories for the future. Eventually, she moved back to New York and became a licensed real estate agent. Through the years, NYOTG has evolved into a collection of lists, tips, and stories within New York, real estate, and around the world.

My name is Candyce Chad and I am that New Yorker! My original story started out in Queens, New York. It was a great place to grow up because it is so diverse. Before the age of 12, I was already introduced to Bollywood films, telenovelas, and K-pop. Because of that, I thought I’d never have to leave New York! Fortunately, the travel bug bit me in 2010, and that’s when I made my first venture outside of the country - to Italy. Over the next few years, I checked a few more places off my bucket list and started NYOTG. Upon returning to New York, I became a real estate agent, gaining access to behind the scenes of New York City. Like any true New Yorker, I go through my ups and downs with this city, but through it all, I can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be.
