Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a slight obsession with Italy. San Carlo confirms exactly why. It has great food, a great atmosphere, and great people. You truly cannot ask for more. Friends and I were able to try out this newer spot on a Thursday night. Some of my must have recommendations include the vitello tonnato and gamberi crudi. They are perfect starters before you enjoy anything else on the menu. This restaurant is completely open, but if you need more air, there is a small bench outside where guests can enjoy a cigarette or just have a seat. The bench is built around a small garden growing fresh basil. Yes, fresh basil grows on a NYC sidewalk.
If you are ever in the Soho area searching for some fresh eats, transport yourself to New York Italy and visit this restaurant.
San Carlo Osteria Piemonte is located at 90 Thompson St between Spring and Prince St.
