about CHAD:

This is the greatest way to find out what's going on in New York, as well as my head.

It was all taxicabs and train lines, skyscrapers and traffic, graffiti and hot dogs - it was basically what I called home. It's not hard to reminisce about the days growing up in New York, amazed at how my mother knew how to get us from Queens to Manhattan, with a stop in the Bronx, then head down to Brooklyn, all the while making it all look easy.

My name is Candyce Chad and I've been a New Yorker for 29 years and counting. In 2010 until now, I've become a traveler, visiting places like Italy, Thailand, and Argentina. Then, I became a real estate agent in 2017, wandering through open houses and finding suitable homes for clients. In the summer of 2018, I targeted a specific development company and became an on-site for them.

I've compiled three of the subjects that make me me and put them altogether.

my favorite things/my many talents to make this blog about

a New York City real estate agent. For as long as I could remember, I have been obsessed with places and the way they make you/me feel. This includes homes, cities, restaurants, stores, you name it. Being a Native New Yorker, New York is obviously one of my favorite places in the world and it has a special place in my heart. There are memories this city has continuously helped me create, and I am always looking to pass along my tips on what NY has to offer to the next person.

Furniture stores. Homes before and after renovations.

I've connected NYOTG to (combines) my personal and professional lives/work-life balance into one.

As a real estate agent, it's always great to have goals you want to hit professionally. As a person, it's even greater to have goals you want to hit in your life personally. Being successful in real estate helps to achieve both of those things.

live out my goals. It's one of the main reasons I decided to go into real estate is because I thought it could help

When life is all said an done, I want to avoid having any regrets.

Allow me to share my tips/be your real estate agent and your concierge for New York City.

When did you start NYOTG?

How long have you been in real estate?

What's your blog about?

The first time I fell in love with a place outside of New York was in 2010. It was my first experience abroad and I had no idea what to expect. I packed two large suitcases, hopped on a plane to Italy, and didn't look back. Adjusting to a new city can be difficult. Luckily for me, I had a personal tour guide (native of Italy) to lead me every step of the way. It proved to me how much better a city can be when a local adds their touch. Traveling made me feel liberated, enlightened, and uncomfortable. Coming back home kept me grateful, open-minded, and motivated. If I never left New York, I would've never learned two things: 1) how wonderful other parts of the world could be and 2) how much I could miss my own city.

consistently learning tricks of the trade.

After a few years of traveling, I began exploring New York again, as if it were the first time. I took the time to check out different neighborhoods, eat at new restaurants, and note more landmarks. I soaked up any New York knowledge I could and quickly turned into a personal concierge for my friends and family. In 2015, I became a certified Sightseeing Guide in New York City. Then in 2017, I became a licensed real estate agent.

Now, I work for a real estate brokerage, travel as much as life allows me to, and update this site on a regular basis.
